Ever since I was a young boy I’ve loved to talk and tell stories. I can still remember coming home with my report cards in second and third grade, showing them to my father and then wincing a little…(so did he!)
I always got pretty decent grades, and I never got in much trouble in school, but down in the “comments” section of our oldschool, handwritten report cards it was often written, “Caesar is a great kid, but he talks too much!” Alas, I probably still do.
But as you’re planning out your event, retreat or training for your leaders I know you need more than a talking head. And you’re looking for more than just a big name to draw a crowd; you’re hoping for people to be transformed.
Here’s The Thing…
I have spoken at hundreds of events over my career on a wide range of important topics. I’ve keynoted close to a hundred events. But I think the thing that makes me a little unique, and probably much of what God has used to shape the messages I bring is 1.) I’m a pretty good storyteller. 2.) I am a practitioner. I don’t just talk about a lifestyle of discipleship and mission, but it really is the way that my wife, family and friends all live. And we have for years.
I speak from my heart and experiences. I share from the things I’ve lived out. I know of no other way to do it.
My Most Requested Topics
Story of God: We are living in a time and culture that is increasingly choosing to form and shape their worldview and beliefs about God through oral means; relationship, experience and stories are the distribution channels of belief in our postmodern society.
I explain why storytelling is so important in communicating the gospel and making disciples in the time in which we live. You’ll experience the Bible come alive in this narrative and dialogical experience. There are several options for this talk/training. Learn more.
Birthright: Drawing on stories from my own journey and real life in community, we will look realistically at the identity we have been given in Christ and how it reshapes everything about us.
Set free from performance-driven spirituality and guilt, you will draw closer to God, allowing him to radically change the well-worn rhythms and patterns of your every day life and transform your relationships from the inside out.
Moving Mission from Additional to Intentional: Often when moving toward a lifestyle of discipleship and mission people become overwhelmed with what they perceive as the risk of their family time, “margins” and sanity!
In this talk I teach the 6 rhythms of everyday life, helping you see how discipleship and mission can take place in every area of life–not just in the classroom. Discipleship does not have to be added to our already busy lives, rather it is a matter of seeing the existing opportunities and moving intentionally toward them.
I speak on a wide variety of topics in connection with Gospel-fluency, Missional Community life, Family on Mission, Leadership Development and Church Planting.
Let me know if you think I am a good fit for your next important event.
