Most people cannot multiply or replicate what they experience on Sundays at a church service. If what we preach, and teach others cannot be reproduced immediately, over and over, then it will never lead to maturity, growth and multiplication.
In this episode, we continue in the Conversations series. You’ll hear a short but natural conversation between a couple of buddies who meet up at a cafe. They end up talking about a pretty common misperception connected to discipleship that a lot of us were taught in church, and maybe, still hold onto today.
In This Episode You’ll Learn:
- Why it’s critical we have all 3 “legs of the stool” in our churches.
- How your discipleship process may be missing a key ingredient.
- Why one-to-one discipleship does not lead to maturity.
- A conversation about the importance of living in gospel communities on mission.
From this episode:
“If mature disciples could be made in a one-to-one setting alone, or in classrooms, Jesus would have done it that way. Jesus came in the flesh and hung out in the neighborhood. He loved us enough to not broadcast a whole load of truth from scripture at us and send us out hoping for the best. And here’s some good news for the journey: Jesus said that he will never leave us or forsake us on this mission!”
